Call your friends and grab your clubs: The Penn State Abington Golf Classic is scheduled for Monday, October 14, 2013, at the Sandy Run Country Club in Oreland, Pa. The scramble format tournament begins with the registration and check-in at 10 a.m. and a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. THe outing commences with a sit down dinner and awards ceremony.
 
The 18-hole, four-person team scramble has traditionally been a great business networking event, and also a way for alumni to meet or reconnect. Penn State Abington's Director of Athletics Shawne McCoy says, "The Golf Classic provides a unique opportunity for the Abington community, supporters and fans of Penn State Abington Athletics to enjoy a great day of golf and socializing, while assisting Penn State Abington in shaping the future of its student-athletes."
 
Participants can sign up as a team or as an individual player, for $165 per player or $650 for a team of four.
 
Participants don't have to be golfers to enjoy the day. Guests may attend just the dinner for $60 per person after the golfing. There are also several opportunities to serve as a sponsor, donate a silent auction item, or to volunteer with the event.
